National Diploma students visit the Royal Veterinary College
On Tuesday 1st December 2009, a party of 2nd Year National Diploma in Animal Management students from Sheffield City College in South Yorkshire, boarded a train for a three-day visit to London.
For a number of these students it was the first time they had been to the capital city, and for a couple the first time they had travelled by train.
Although sightseeing was on the agenda, the main object of the trip was to visit the Royal Veterinary College in Camden, London.
The staff at
the RVC provided fascinating sessions on animal management, and there was no
doubting the value of the experience the students’ obtained from the
experienced staff - as some of these pictures testify!
Visits to the Natural History and Science Museums added to the experience, and complemented the knowledge gained at the Royal College. The trip, which was partially funded by VETNET LLN, certainly contributed towards raising the progression aspirations of some of these students.
