Allan Rigby

BSc (Hons) Land Management, Moulton College

Allan joined Moulton College in 2002 and initially enrolled on the two year National Diploma in Countryside Management – our vocational course equivalent to three ‘A'-levels. He then progressed onto the innovative higher education Foundation Degree in Conservation & Land Management course, and has recently completed his BSc top-up in Land Management.

Allan says of his time at Moulton...

"Having heard about the growing reputation of Moulton College, I always felt that it was the natural choice to help me achieve my career aspirations of working in the great outdoors."

"I have particularly enjoyed the practical emphasis in the range of modules on the courses I have undertaken here, and feel that the final year degree top-up was the ‘icing on the cake'."

"In my degree, we looked at more applied aspects of conservation and land management including ecological consultancy, rural development and computer based technologies including Geographical Information Systems (GIS). I also finished my research project, which was an applied ecological study analysing the population dynamics of badger populations on the College estate."

"Since I graduated in September 2006, I have got a job as an Assistant Rights of Way Officer for Northampton County Council."
