Background
A brief overview of VETNET LLN and its main objectives.
The VETNET Lifelong Learning Network was launched in April 2007. Its main purpose is to clarify and promote progression routes to higher education for vocational learners in the veterinary and animal related sectors. This is achieved through a network of regional partner institutions across the country including veterinary schools, universities, specialist colleges and further education providers.
The VETNET Lifelong Learning Network was initially supported by strategic development funds awarded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England as part of the lifelong learning network initiative. The network is now being sustained as a membership association supported by subscription.
The aims of the VETNET Lifelong Learning Network are:
· To promote fair access to veterinary and animal
related courses
· To extend vocational learner choice by
increasing progression opportunities to higher education
· To improve the quality of information, advice
and guidance available in relation to animal related and veterinary courses and
careers
