Details of Catalyst 'Business Interchange' pilot programme
Business Interchange offers teachers, tutors and trainers the exciting opportunity to update their specialist skills and work closely with local businesses work to shape the workforce of the future.
What Is It?
The methods and expertise of the workforce in most industries evolve by the day and therefore it is important that those involved with the delivery of relevant education and training keep abreast of all changes on a consistent basis.
The Business Interchange programme has been developed in order that businesses are given the chance to influence how Further Education (FE) is delivered by providing placement opportunities to FE staff members.
Over the next three years, the Catalyst programme aims to improve the Further Education (FE) workforce by implementing four programmes, one of these being Business Interchange. The broader Catalyst programme will create opportunities for teachers, tutors and trainers to update their skills in industry. The Catalyst programme will also enhance the FE workforce through the recruitment of graduates, experienced managers and vocational and technical experts.
By providing learners with teaching that meets the needs of their relevant business sector, the programme will help create a highly skilled workforce ready for industry as soon as it leaves FE.
Business Interchange is currently running a pilot programme; so please express your interest now as the placements must start no later than March 2008
